Murin Wolf (*1987)
Murin Wolf (*1987)

Czech comic book artist, illustrator, painter, cartoonist, screenwriter and movie nerd from Prague. He has been influenced by horror since his childhood and, as he himself says, Alien and Dracula are to blame. That is why he found a liking for horror and sci-fi and best of all a combination of both, which is based on his very favorite film The Thing by John Carpenter. He has always been drawn to comics. He was fascinated by the graphic expression of a story and storytelling through images. The turning point came when he discovered the comics of Kája Saudek and subsequently the popularity of the Sin City comic book series by Frank Miller. Murin wanted to be a film director, as he is very influenced by Quentin Tarantino, but his demanding nature and impatience with people anchored him to the comic book palette (of colors). He has many original comic works: Fotograf (2015), Nym-Fa (2017), Škodík (2017), Rybář (2019), The Phone (2024) and Miriti - AssasSin Vampire Cat, where he expresses his social stance and criticism of certain issues that are still taboo. He also has an abroad success, specifically for the metal band Beastö Blancö, where Alice Cooper's daughter sings, and these were T-shirt covers. He then did the same for the Californian horror-themed store "Zombie Torrez Playthings". A major turning point in his career came when he started working with Beta publishing house and began creating covers for Stephen King's books: Under the Dome, Night Shift (cover + 20 illustrations inside) and The Shining. He also contributed to the anthology V Královských zahradách, for which he created a comic prologue and epilogue, paying homage to the legendary Creepshow. He is currently working on many other projects.
